Coming back from vacation.
I 40 stopni w cieniu.
I already forgot how hard it is to return from vacation. On Tuesday, just after entering the office, and yesterday when I caught the biggest after-holidays crisis, I wondered, what is worse - to come back from holidays or not to go on them at all ...? Fortunately, tomorrow is Friday.
On July 28, after 3 years since my last visit to the Greek earth, I landed on the island of Crete. Stories of this wonderful island turned out to be true and together with my other half we visited a large extent of its eastern part. Because I have been in love with Greece almost blindly for years, even this time I forgave it a small amount of seafood in the hotel menu and poor road-marking high in the mountains, thanks to which (or rather because of which!) we slightly lost our way, travelling a rented mini-car.
Greece gives me everything I expect from holidays: the sea, beautiful weather, good food, friendly people and interesting places. I even like cicadas. And 40 degrees in the shade. And wine that I drink there like water and does not cause a hangover.
And sitting now by the window, looking at already dark street (days are getting shorter, unfortunately ...), I am looking at the pictures and planning further voyages in my head. It is easier this way to go back to the Polish reality. Meanwhile, I can still "pretend" that I'm on vacation, lying with a book by the lake or the Baltic Sea. Because this year, August we have is almost like in Hellas.

Sunday 10 p.m.
A w meczu ciągle 0:0.
10 p.m. The match Germany-Argentina (0:0) is arguing with Chet Baker in the background. I'm taking the cake out of the oven. In a sudden burst of creativity, I wanted to do something really good. There are bananas, peanut butter, all under crumble - maybe not quite at this time of year, but it is delectable. I need to start baking again. Because again, I have someone to do this for.
It's been quite a long time that I had such a pleasant Sunday like this. After 9 hours of sleep, then lazing in bed, I felt really rested. Previous week was full of work, but also catching neglected social events. I had no respite, so I needed such a dolce far niente.
Strange we have this summer, kind of hot but punctuated with really fresh rainy moments that make me forget what month we have. Stack of books and magazines by the bed is growing, waiting for its moment. Because somehow I don't have inspiration to read. And in two weeks I'm going for awaited vacation, so in my head I'm packing a suitcase. I'm looking at a calm, Sunday Warsaw street, thinking that it's time for a change.

And it's still 0:0 in the match.
