Mirror, mirror.

For some time now I've had one thought in my mind. I have been wondering what would life look like if there were no mirrors and a man could not see their reflection - also in the glass, a pool or in a metal tray? I thought to myself - how many people - in the family, among friends - I could trust if I asked - Am I pretty? Am I too fat? Do I have red eyes because of the last crying? Or am I going through life with a "mustache" with tomato sauce?

Lustro towarzyszy nam codziennie.

Mirror is with us every day. I think all of us have at least one at home. Thanks to it we know how we look like. "Mirror will tell you the truth" - the saying tells. You will see there cheery blush on your face and on the other day - some unnecessary wrinkle. Lonely ones drink to the mirror so they don't feel bad that they're forced to toast without the company. I know people who can't stand mirrors, they don't like to watch their reflection. Yet the mirror gives us a companion for life - ourselves. It would be nice to like this familiar face looking at us everyday.
Kiedyś, jako dziecko, pobiłam małe lusterko - to podobno 7 lat nieszczęścia. Płakałam nad zabobonem, ale się nie sprawdził. Wszystko ułożyło się jednak pomyślne.

Once, as a child, I beat a small mirror - it's supposed to be seven following years of bad luck. I cried over superstition but it failed. Everything was successful.

I like mirrors, those in beautiful frames. I am looking for them on the antiquities of antiques and I like to think who used to be in them  - surveyed - and whether that person was happy and did she or he like their reflection. How many times he or she didn't want to look into their own eyes.

No właśnie.

That's it. Would our life be the same if we had no way to look at ourselves in the mirror? How many people could we trust if we asked "How do I look?". I don't know how it would be for sure, but when I think about such a situation in my life, I think I would have a lot of luck - I am surrounded by good people. Some of them certainly would take care if I was going on a date with lipstick on my teeth.

Interesting posts. I read somewhere that the reflection your brain sees in the mirror makes you more beautiful than you are in real life. That's a depressing thought!

Thanks for the follow - I followed you back on GFC and bloglovin, sorry it took so long to get back to you, I'm running quite behind on responding to comments!
