Duchy przeszłości.

1 listopada 2016 r.

1 November 2016. All Saints' Day. It's raining cats and dogs in Warsaw and in Suwałki first snow fell today. It is kind of strange and yet I remember that when I used to live on the Polish North Pole, the snow was the most normal thing on that day. You had to wade through large and small drifts between the tombstones, watch out for chains and uneven ground hidden in the snow, not to lose your teeth with a possible collapse ...
Yesterday, some people celebrated the American holiday Halloween. Internet crackles until today  with the images of people costumed as characters from movies, usually from horror movies, and as spirits and ghosts. And I thought that such spirits and ghosts accompany us not only at the occassion of this day.
Sometimes we cannot make a decision because we are locked with such "spirits and ghosts" from the past. People, places, which we might have split up physically, but we cannot say goodbye to them in our head, stop us and not allow to live in a hundred percent. And we are such hostages of our own thinking, we limit ourselves, because it's difficult to say "goodbye" to something that the invisible hand connects us with what it was.
And just as easily it is to get rid of the Halloween costume or mask, so hard it turns out to be to get rid of a certain way of thinking. We repeat like a mantra to ourselves that we live today, live for the moment, and somewhere in the back of our heads we are afraid to cut off from certain events or people. Why do we want to open new door, not closing the first one? And it's like staying in draught. It never brings anything good to you.

Say 'goodbye' to strawberries.

I iść dalej.

It's July already. I regreted running away June, with the longest evenings, serving truly African temperatures in Poland. Also at night. Strawberries season is also coming to an end, while a lot of people haven't managed to try them. Maybe next year.

Children have summer break and adults - if they're lucky - a week or two of vacation. We live too fast, these three summer months go by like the snap of your fingers. Some people ask why I'm not in Warsaw on the last weekends. And I have no regrets and leave the capital city, although cursing weekly traffic jams, I have almost 2 full days enjoying fresh air, tlakes and sun.

I remind some different life situations, watch childhood and travel
photos. On the one hand, we are very sentimental. On the other hand, past experience teaches that with age it's getting easier to abandon a failed acquaintance or uncomfortable relationship. And go on.

Some people can't act like this at all. They dwell on the past, not being able to live 'here and now', because emotionally they haven't left 'yesterday'. Or have not lost the habit of what it was like one year, half a year or a month ago. It's all not worth.

Instead of staying in one place in our heads and rushing in everyday live, we all need a balance. L
et's stop for a moment. Polish summer is beautiful, yet too short.
